Carrier and Sling Hire

The South London Sling Library has a large collection of carriers and slings that are available to hire.

If you need more help choosing what to borrow, want to be shown how to use the carrier you’d like to try out, or don’t know where to start; we’re always able to make suitable personalised suggestions for you if you come along to any of our advice sessions or workshops.

You can collect and return pre-arranged carrier hires to the following venues, at the following times. Please return your carrier to the venue from which you hired it, unless we have previously agreed otherwise.
Forest Hill: Friday’s 11.30am-12.30pm
Tooting, SW16: Thursday’s 10am-6pm
Lewisham: Anytime via Parcel Box at door
Crystal Palace: Tuesday’s 10am-2pm.

The minimum hire period is 2 weeks, with hire costs from £5-£15. Deposits are not charged in advance at Forest Hill, Crystal Palace or Lewisham but, you must have a debit/credit card to hire & your card will be charged the replacement value of the carrier if it is damaged/lost/not returned.

If hiring from Tooting hire costs are £5-£15 depending on the value of the carrier borrowed.  You’ll also need to leave a deposit of £25-150 per carrier borrowed to cover the replacement value of the carrier. We can take deposits by cash, credit/debit Card or Paypal payment; deposits are returned in full once the Library has received the carrier and instructions back in good order.
