Consultations and Workshops

We have a very small (but growing!) team of fully insured Babywearing Consultants who run group workshops and private classes and consultations.  Our consultants use their extensive experience and knowledge of baby carriers and slings to offer informed and impartial recommendations, plus personalised tips and tricks on how to use a suitable sling safely and comfortably.

And of course anyone attending a private session will benefit from all of the available Sling Library carriers to try too!

Before a Consultation: After discussing your needs in advance your consultant will plan a dedicated session so that you can try out the carriers and techniques that you need help with.

During a Private Consultation or Workshop: Your consultant will be able to advise you on the best carriers to suit you and your family, teach you how to use a wide range of slings, give you tips and techniques for ensuring a safe and comfortable carry, and to troubleshoot any problems that you might be experiencing.

After a Consultation:
Using baby carriers is a skill that gets better with practice (both for you and for your baby); we can’t make you into an experienced expert in one session, but we aim to give you all the tools and information you need so that you can go home and practice your carrying skills confidently in your own time. All sessions are followed up with email and/or phone support, and we can send you links to online tutorials and information to support the work you’ve done in the session.

    Hello

I am looking for a sling I can use for my 3week old who is quite small. 2.7kg.
She doesn’t like to sleep in her basket and I find the only thing that makes he’s sleep restfully is on me/ skin to skin. I would Like a comfortably sling suited to this age that will allow me to get on with tasks in the house and also spend more hands on time with my son who is almost 3.

I tried a baby carrier previously with my son (from mama’s and pappa’s) but found it faffy and uncomfortable on my back and got very little wear out of it. I have never used a sling before and would appreciate some advice and guidance on a suitable one.

    Thank you

    Josie

      Hi Josie,
I’d be more than happy to help you to find a way to comfortabley carry your baby. You could come along for a private consultation, or drop in to any of the sling library Open Sessions. If you could email me to info@southlondonslings.co.uk then we can have a chat about what might work best for you :)
      All the best,
